VINEYARDS & TERROIRS
Six Hands Winery, Estate Vineyard. Our Syrah vines were planted in 1995 in fine, sandy loam soil and are trellised in the single cordon training system. Our vineyards are farmed sustainably out of respect for the environment.
Following the harvest, the grapes are crushed and cold-soaked for 24 hours to achieve optimal extraction and aromatics, followed by a two-week fermentation. Once complete, the must is pressed, undergoes malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks and is left to settle for two months. We then rack the wine into French oak barrels and allow it to age slowly over 18 months. The finished wine is bottled unfined and lightly filtered.
TASTING NOTES & PAIRING SUGGESTIONS
This classic Syrah exhibits everything we love about the grape: deep mixed berry fruits, earthy aromas and balanced tannins. It’s long finish begs for grilled steak, barbecued ribs and burgers.
