100% Petite Sirah
VINEYARD & TERROIRS
Heringer Holland Vineyard. The Petite Sirah vines were planted in 2000 in fine, sandy loam, and are trellised in the vertical shoot positioning system. Heringer Holland is certified sustainable.
The grapes are crushed and de-stemmed. Primary fermentation lasts for two weeks, during which time the must macerates with the skins and undergoes manual punch-downs three times per day. After malolactic fermentation, the wine is racked into tank to settle for two months and then moved into barrel, where it ages for 24 months in 25% new barrels, and 75% in second- and third-year barrels. The Heringer Holland Petite Sirah is bottled unfined and lightly filtered before release.
TASTING NOTES & PAIRING SUGGESTIONS
Our Heringer Holland Petite Sirah is generally softer and more immediately approachable than our Cresci bottling. Deeply inky and overflowing with notes of blueberries, blackberries, and cherries, it is a natural with a simple barbecue but also has enough intensity to stand up to chocolate.
